Managing Departments¶
Overview
Departments represent logical groupings within your organization (e.g., Corporate, Engineering, Research) that help segment resource ownership. By assigning Node Groups and Projects to a Department, you can more easily organize infrastructure and workloads at scale.
Why Use Departments?
- Resource Isolation: Ensure that specific teams or business units manage only their designated resources.
- Accountability: Link resource utilization and budgets directly to the appropriate department.
- Access Control: Restrict which users or roles can modify resources in each department.
Accessing the Departments Dashboard¶
-
Open the Departments View
- In the left-hand navigation, select Departments.
- The Departments dashboard appears, showing any existing departments (if any). Initially, you may see No data if no departments have been created yet.
-
Optional: Search for Existing Projects
- Use the Search Departments box at the top to find a specific project by name.
