Introduction to the Quick Start Guide (QSG)

The MemVerge AI Platform Quick Start Guide (QSG) is designed to help you rapidly set up and explore the platform’s core functionalities during a proof-of-concept (PoC). By following the individual documents below, you can gain hands-on experience with the fundamental workflows required to deploy, manage, and monitor AI workloads.

In this QSG, you will learn the following:

  • Renaming the Cluster: Customize your cluster’s identity by changing its display name.
  • Departments: Practice organizing resources by teams or business units in a simplified, step-by-step demonstration.
  • Nodes and Node Group Basics: Understand how to group similar nodes for efficient workload scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Projects and Resource Management: Explore how to structure projects within departments and assign resources and priorities to each project to enable team collaboration.
  • Storage Volumes: Learn how to create persistent volumes for user workspaces.
  • User Worspace Deployment: Delve into creating and launching user workloads.
  • Working with Snapshots: Learn how to snapshot (checkpoint) and restore workspaces (user jobs) without losing progress by leveraging transparent checkpointing.
  • Understanding Workload Priority and Preemption: Discover how to manage competing jobs in resource-constrained environments. Learn how to assign priority levels to your workloads and how preemption ensures mission-critical tasks receive the necessary resources first.

Each section focuses on a key feature or workflow, providing a concise, action-oriented tutorial. If you encounter any challenges or need more in-depth information, refer to the comprehensive documentation for detailed explanations, best practices, and advanced configurations.
