To access Memory Machine in a web browser, enter the IP Address or hostname along with port 8080 or whatever port was configured during installation. For example http://
You will see the dashboard that will look similar to the following:
Memory Machine System Topology Dashboard
The numbered areas within the dashboard are:
- Company Logo
- MemVerge Product Name
- Dashboard & System Topology Menu Item
- Quality of Service (QoS) Menu Item
- Insights Menu Item
- Light or Dark UI Mode Selector
- MemVerge Product Version
- System Information
- System Topology
- System Metrics
- System Metrics Date/Time Selector
Company Logo
The company logo is shown in this area. If you want to replace the default MemVerge logo with your company logo, see the instructions for Using a Custom Company Logo to white label the User Interface (UI).
MemVerge Product Name
The MemVerge product name is shown to the right of the Company Logo on the upper left portion of the UI.
Menu
The menu contains the following sub-pages available in this product release.
Dashboard Menu Item
The dashboard is the default landing page showing the system information, topology, and telemetry.
Quality of Service Menu Item
The Quality of Service engine has Latency and Bandwidth policies to optimize application memory utilization.
Insights Menu Item
The insights menu allows you to monitor running processes and obtain detailed memory insights such as memory usage and hot working set size of time. For more information, see the Application Memory Insights section.
Light or Dark UI Selector
Use the selector to switch between light and dark mode.
MemVerge Product Version
The Memverge product version is shown on the upper right portion of the UI.
System Information
The system information displays an overview of the current system. The information displayed includes:
- Hostname
- Total Memory
- DRAM + CXL Capacity
- Current Total Memory Usage as a capacity and percentage
- DRAM
- DRAM Capacity in the system across all CPU sockets
- DRAM Usage as a capacity and percentage
- CXL Type 3 Memory
- CXL Capacity in the system across all CPU sockets
- CXL Usage as a capacity and percentage
System Topology
The system topology shows the installed CPU Sockets, DRAM Modules, and CXL Type 3 Memory Devices. The topology is based on the automatic detection of devices in the system. If devices are known to be installed but do not display in the topology, you can add missing devices or customize detected device information using Customize the CXL System Topology UI.
Hover over each device to show more information about the selected device. Here are some examples:
Detailed CPU Information
Detailed DRAM Module Information
Detailed CXL Device Information
System Metrics
The system metrics area displays the CPU Usage, Memory Usage, and Memory Throughput of DRAM and CXL. Each chart shows the following information.
CPU Utilization:
- %Idle
- %Busy User
- %Busy System
- %Busy IRQs
- %Busy IOWait
- %Busy Other
Memory Usage (Capacity):
- All Online CXL Devices
- All Online DRAM Modules
Memory Throughput (MiB/Second) is an aggregate across all Online DRAM and CXL devices:
- Reads from all DRAM Modules
- Writes to all DRAM Modules
- Reads from all Online CXL Memory Devices
- Writes to all Online CXL Memory Devices
System Metrics Date/Time Selector
By default, the charts show the most recent 5 minutes of data. You can select from the list of options to see historical information.
Chart Date/Time Drop-Down Options
You can manually select a time range from any chart by selecting a time range using your mouse. The chart will zoom into the selected time window and no longer automatically refresh. Use the refresh icon to update the chart, which will return to the time range in the Date/Time Selector drop-down and automatically refresh.
Use the full-screen icon to display the chart in a new browser tab.
