Example: Running a Redis Server Instance

Before you begin

Install Redis on the Memory Machine server. This example assumes that Redis 5.0.7 is installed.

About this task

To start a Redis instance, use the command line as described in Starting a Redis Server.

Results

The Redis server instance is started.

If a Redis instance is not already running, a new Application Tab is added to the Applications Console. In either case, the new instance is shown in the Instance Table.

The memory consumed by the new server is represented on the Hosts Console (though it won't be much, because simply starting the server consumes only a few MB of memory).
