Installing a File-Based License using the CLI

To install or update a file-based license (also called a single-host license), use the mvmcli license update command.

About this task

To install a file-based license file from the command line, do the following.

Procedure

Run the mvmcli command with the license subcommand:

# mvmcli license update -f license_file_path

where license_file_path is the license file supplied by MemVerge.

Results

The command copies the contents of the license file to /etc/memverge/license.lic. This license is valid only on the host where the license is installed. Altering or removing this file causes a license error and disables MVMAS's ability to write to PMem on that host.
