Using the Memory Machine Dashboard
You can view system resources and performance metrics, and create and restore snapshots in MemVerge Memory Machine using the Memory Machine Dashboard, a web UI application running on one of the installed hosts.
Getting Familiar with the Memory Machine Dashboard
Memory Machine Dashboard is a web-based user interface (UI) from which an administrator can view memory and processor statistics and capture and restore application snapshots on any number of servers under management by a Memory Machine instance.
The Memory Machine Dashboard Console Screens
The Memory Machine Dashboard has several console screens: a Global Dashboard, a Host Overview Console, an Applications Console, an Alerts Console, a Jobs Console, a Usage Report Console, and a Settings Console.
The Applications Console
The Applications Console shows memory use for every application and instance on the host. Use it to view and manage instances and snapshots.

Overview and Installation
Getting started with MemVerge Memory Machine requries that you understand some background information about how persistent memory works. You can then install Memory Machine on a server and begin monitoring memory usage and capturing application snapshots.
Using the Memory Machine Dashboard
You can view system resources and performance metrics, and create and restore snapshots in MemVerge Memory Machine using the Memory Machine Dashboard, a web UI application running on one of the installed hosts.
- Getting Familiar with the Memory Machine Dashboard
  Memory Machine Dashboard is a web-based user interface (UI) from which an administrator can view memory and processor statistics and capture and restore application snapshots on any number of servers under management by a Memory Machine instance.
  - Logging In
    Log in to the Memory Machine Dashboard to view memory usage and to manage MemVerge Memory Machine in an easy-to-use graphical environment.
  - The Memory Machine Dashboard Console Screens
    The Memory Machine Dashboard has several console screens: a Global Dashboard, a Host Overview Console, an Applications Console, an Alerts Console, a Jobs Console, a Usage Report Console, and a Settings Console.
    - The Global Dashboard
      Use the Global Dashboard to view a summary of all the hosts in a memory cluster.
    - The Host Overview Console
      The Host Overview Console shows the amount of memory on the host, memory used over time, and use of memory by application instances.
    - The Applications Console
      The Applications Console shows memory use for every application and instance on the host. Use it to view and manage instances and snapshots.
    - Instance Detail Console
      The Instance Detail Console enables you to view details of a single instance, including its snapshot history. You can view tree and list views of the instance's snapshots and capture, restore and schedule snapshots.
    - The Alerts Console
      The Alerts Console lists alerts for events such as reaching memory capacity and service outages for every host running on the Memory Machine cluster.
    - The Usage Report Console
      The Usage Report Console shows memory use for every application and instance on the host. It is also used to view and manage snapshots.
    - The Jobs Console
      The Jobs Console shows all jobs that are running or have run on the Memory Machine.
    - The Settings Console
      The Settings Console enables an administrator to configure alerts, email server, authentication, telemetry, and licensing.
  - Changing Consoles
    Choose a console from the Console Menu in the upper left corner of the application screen.
  - Installing a Software License
    MemVerge Memory Machine requires a software license to run. The type of license depends on which edition of Memory Machine is installed and on which license model you have purchased.
  - Setting Login Security
    Configure security for Memory Machine by using the Security Settings Console to set parameters for local login, LDAP, or both.
  - Logging Out
    Log out of the MemVerge Memory Machine from the User Menu.
- Managing Applications
  You can view and stop application instances from the Applications Console. Application instances must be started using the command line.
- Using Snapshots in Memory Machine Dashboard
  Use ZeroIO Snapshot from Memory Machine Dashboard to capture the state of a running process, then later restore the running process to the state captured in the snapshot, all from a graphical web interface.
- Viewing Metrics and System Status
  The Memory Machine Dashboard makes it easy to view and compare running processes, snapshots, system resources and performance metrics.
Using the Command Line Interface
You can administer and use MemVerge Memory Machine using the Command Line Interface (CLI) on any installed host.
Working with Applications
MemVerge provides additional instructions for some popular applications supported by Memory Machine, either to assist with complex setup or to support additional functionality.

The Applications Console

The Applications Console shows memory use for every application and instance on the host. Use it to view and manage instances and snapshots.

The Applications Console shows the labeled parts of the Applications Console in the Memory Machine application.

The Applications Console contains the following elements:

MemVerge Application Name

The MemVerge logo and the Memory Machine version number.

Global Search Icon

Click to search all hosts for application, instance, and snapshot names.

Jobs Dropdown

Click to view scheduled jobs. See Viewing Jobs.

User Dropdown

Click to open the OpenAPI v3 specification or to log off with the current user.

Console Selector

Click to choose one of: Global Dashboard, Host Overview Console, Applications Console, Alerts Console, Jobs Console, Usage Report Console, or Settings Console.

Host Selector Dropdown

Click to select a host.

Application Tabs

Select an application from the row of tabs.

Instance Table

Lists all instances of the selected application.

Import Snapshot Icon

Click to import and run a snapshot.

Instance Table Entry

The name and status of a single instance. The status can be:

Running (green icon) – The instance has a process currently running on the server.
Stopped (grey icon) – The instance has one or more snapshots but no current running process.

Each table describes one instance and includes its PID, managed memory and CPU usage, run time to date, the owning username, and the command string.

Take a Snapshot

Click to create a snapshot of the running process.

Instance Actions Dropdown

Click to choose any available action on the instance: take a snapshot of the running instance, schedule a snapshot, or stop the instance process.

Instance Details Button

Click to see details of the selected instance, including a graphical tree or list of snapshots. See Instance Detail Console.
