You can view system resources and performance metrics, and create and restore snapshots in MemVerge Memory Machine using the Memory Machine Dashboard, a web UI application running on one of the installed hosts.

Overview and Installation
Getting started with MemVerge Memory Machine requries that you understand some background information about how persistent memory works. You can then install Memory Machine on a server and begin monitoring memory usage and capturing application snapshots.
Using the Memory Machine Dashboard
You can view system resources and performance metrics, and create and restore snapshots in MemVerge Memory Machine using the Memory Machine Dashboard, a web UI application running on one of the installed hosts.
- Getting Familiar with the Memory Machine Dashboard
  Memory Machine Dashboard is a web-based user interface (UI) from which an administrator can view memory and processor statistics and capture and restore application snapshots on any number of servers under management by a Memory Machine instance.

  You can view and stop application instances from the Applications Console. Application instances must be started using the command line.

    Capturing a snapshot is almost instantaneous, requiring only that a small amount of metadata be saved to a storage device.

Viewing Snapshots

View snapshots graphically, in a tree structure, or as a sortable list in the Snapshot Display Panel.

About this task

You can create any number of snapshots, limited only by the amount of persistent memory available. You can view these snapshots in the Snapshot Display Panel in a tree view or in a list view.

Procedure

On the Applications Console, choose the instance for which you want to view the snapshots. See Viewing Application and Instance Memory Usage.
Click View for the selected instance.
In the Instance Detail Console, choose between the Snapshot Tree Graph and the Snapshot List using the View Selector Buttons.
- The Snapshot Tree Graph shows the time history of all snapshots of the instance on the server. See Viewing Snapshot Lineage.
- The Snapshot List shows the same snapshots in a list sortable by name, image size, persistent memory used, or capture timestamp.
Optional: Select a snapshot from the Snapshot Tree Graph to open the Snapshot Information Dialog with actions available to restore, export or delete the snapshot. These actions are also available in the Snapshot List view.
