Viewing Memory Usage Trends

The DRAM and PMEM Bandwidth Panels and Usage Panels on the Host Overview Console show volatile and persistent memory usage over time.

About this task

See The Host Overview Console to locate the Bandwidth Panels and the Usage Panels.

Procedure

  1. Choose Host Overview Console from the Console Selector. See Changing Consoles.

The Persistent Memory Usage Panel and the Volatile Memory Usage Panel summarize the memory usage on the host.

Note: Except in rare cases (there is almost always more PMEM than DRAM on a server), the two graphs represent different amounts of memory. So although the graphs are equally sized and horizontally aligned, they cannot be compared directly. The red Max GB line across the top of each graph shows the total capacity of the respective memory type.
  2. Scroll down to view the Bandwidth Panels and Usage Panels.
The DRAM and PMEM Bandwidth Panels show current and historical read and write bandwidth for both memory types on the host.
  3. Choose from the Time Scale Dropdowns to select the time span of the graphs: 15 minutes, one hour, 24 hours, or one week.
  4. Below the Bandwidth Panels, view the DRAM and PMEM Usage Panels.
  5. Choose from the Time Scale Dropdowns to select the time span of graphs: one day, one week, or one month.
  6. Hover over any of the four graphs and move the cursor horizontally for a numerical display of the time and the selected memory usage at that time.
