Configuring LDAP Authentication

Configure LDAP authentication to manage access to the Memory Machine Management Center (M3C) without requiring local logins.

Before you begin

Start M3C. See Running Memory Machine Management Service.

Procedure

  1. Choose the Settings Console from the Console Selector.
  2. In the Settings Console, choose Security.
    Note: The first time you open Memory Machine, the Security Settings Console displays automatically.
  3. Check the LDAP Checkbox.
  4. In the LDAP Security Settings Panel, complete the following controls:

    In the Communication Type Panel:

    Communication Type Radio Buttons
    Choose TCP or UDP to communicate with the LDAP server

    In the Server Information Panel:

    Address Text Field
    Enter the IP address of the LDAP server.
    Port Text Field
    Enter the LDAP server port number.
    Base Distinguished Name Text Field
    Enter the base DN.
    Group Organizational Unit Text Field
    Enter the group OU.
    People Organizational Unit Text Field
    Enter the people OU.
    Enable Transport Layer Security
    Check this checkbox to use TLS to connect to the LDAP server.
    Allow Anonymous
    Check this box to allow anonymous login to the M3C. You must supply a DN and a password.
    Anonymous Login Distinguished Name
    Enter the anonymous login DN.
    Anonymous Login Password
    Enter the anonymous login password.
    In the Memory Machine Admin Group Panel:
    Memory Machine Admin Group Text Box
    Enter the name of the LDAP Memory Machine group in the Memory Machine Admin Group Text Box.
    Note: This group is the same one used by local login. MemVerge recommends you use the mvmm group created at installation. See Configuring Local Login.
  5. Click the Apply.
  6. In the confirmation dialog, click the Continue Button.
