Memory Machine Management Center (M3C) is a web UI application available on the host that is running the Memory Machine Management Service. You can view system resources and performance metrics; create and restore snapshots; schedule jobs; and more in M3C.
Getting Familiar with the Memory Machine Management Center
Memory Machine Management Center (M3C) is a web-based user interface (UI) from which an administrator can view memory and processor statistics and capture and restore application snapshots on any number of servers under management by Memory Machine.
The Memory Machine Management Center Console Screens
The Memory Machine Management Center (M3C) has several console screens: a Global Dashboard, a Hosts Console, an Applications Console, an Alerts Console, a Jobs Console, a Usage Report Console, Logs Console, and a Settings Console.
The Settings Console
The Settings Console enables an administrator to configure alerts, an SMTP email server, the Memory Machine Management Center (M3C) database, authentication, telemetry, and licensing.

Overview and Installation
Getting started with MemVerge Memory Machine requires that you understand some background information about how persistent memory works. You can then install Memory Machine on a server and begin monitoring memory usage and capturing application snapshots.
Using the Memory Machine Management Center

  - Logging In
    Log in to the Memory Machine Management Center (M3C) to view memory usage and to manage MemVerge Memory Machine in an easy-to-use graphical environment.
  - The Memory Machine Management Center Console Screens

    - The Global Dashboard
      Use the Global Dashboard to view a summary of all the hosts running on Memory Machine.
    - The Hosts Console Overview Page
      The Hosts Console shows a list of managed hosts and host groups, and metrics including aggregated memory usage for a selected host.
    - The Hosts Console Instances Page
      The Hosts Console shows a list of managed hosts and host groups, and the application instances running on a selected host.
    - The Host Group Page
      The Hosts Console displays host groups as well as individual hosts.
    - The Applications Console
      The Applications Console lists application instances by host. and displays details of a selected instance.
    - The Alerts Console
      The Alerts Console lists alerts for events such as reaching memory capacity and service outages for every host running on the Memory Machine.
    - The Jobs Console
      The Jobs Console shows all jobs that are running or have run on the Memory Machine.
    - The Usage Report Console
      The Usage Report Console shows memory use for every application and instance on the host. It is also used to view and manage snapshots.
    - The Logs Console
      The Logs Console lists the log files generated by all services on the management host and the data hosts and by application instances on the data hosts.
    - The Settings Console
      The Settings Console enables an administrator to configure alerts, an SMTP email server, the Memory Machine Management Center (M3C) database, authentication, telemetry, and licensing.
      - The Alert Settings Console
        Use the Alert Settings Console to configure which alerts are shown in the Memory Machine Management Center (M3C), to assign severity levels to alerts, and to configure alert email notification.
      - The SMTP Settings Console
        Configure the SMTP server used for alert emails on the SMTP Settings Console.
      - The Database Settings Console
        Use the Database Settings Console to choose which database the Memory Machine Management Center (M3C) uses to store user information.
      - The Security Settings Console
        Use the Security Settings Console to configure access to the Memory Machine Management Center (M3C) via local login or LDAP.
      - The Call Home Settings Console
        Use the Call Home Settings Console to enable and configure data telemetry. Turning Call Home on enables Memory Machine to securely transmit usage data to MemVerge. See oxy_ex-3/topics/c_mvmm_call_home.html.
      - The License Settings Console
        The License Settings Console enables you to add and update licenses and to add licensed hosts to your network.
  - Changing Consoles
    Choose a console from the Console Menu in the upper left corner of the application screen.
  - Installing a Software License
    MemVerge Memory Machine requires a software license to run. The type of license depends on on which license model you have purchased and determines which edition of Memory Machine, Advanced or Standard, is installed. See oxy_ex-3/topics/c_mvmm_advanced_vs_standard_edition.html.
  - Setting Login Security
    Configure security for Memory Machine by using the Security Settings Console to set parameters for local login, LDAP, or both.
  - Logging Out
    Log out of the MemVerge Memory Machine from the User Menu.
- Managing Hosts
  Use the Hosts Console to manage hosts and to view statistics about application instances, memory performance, and snapshots on individual hosts and host groups.
- Managing Applications
  You can view application instances from the Applications Console. Application instances must be started and stopped using the command line.
- Using Snapshots in Memory Machine Management Center
  Use ZeroIO Snapshot from Memory Machine Management Center to capture the state of a running process. You can then stop the process and restore it to the running state captured in the snapshot.
- Viewing Metrics and System Status
  The Memory Machine Management Center makes it easy to view and compare running processes, snapshots, system resources and performance metrics.
Using the Command Line Interface
You can administer and use MemVerge Memory Machine using the Command Line Interface (CLI) on any installed host.
Working with Applications
MemVerge provides additional instructions for some popular applications supported by Memory Machine, either to assist with complex setup or to support additional functionality.

The Settings Console

The Settings Console enables an administrator to configure alerts, an SMTP email server, the Memory Machine Management Center (M3C) database, authentication, telemetry, and licensing.

A menu of setup options is displayed on the left, to the right of the Console Selector. The rest of the page contains the selected setup page. The available pages are:

Alerts: Configure alert severity levels and capacity warning thresholds.; Turn email alert notifications on or off for any severity level.
SMTP Server: Configure the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server with which to send alert notifications.
Database: Choose the database in which M3C stores settings, alerts, reports, and more.
Security: Configure local and LDAP authentication for the M3C.
Call Home: Turn data telemetry (commonly called "call home") on or off, and configure contact information for your organization's Memory Machine administrator. Data telemetry sends memory usage and system configuration information back to MemVerge. The data is used to facilitate licensing and to gather diagnostic information for maintenance and troubleshooting.
The License Settings Console: Install or update a license, and add and remove servers to and from Memory Machine.
